Bagging is a grocery price tracking app and website operated by 1576136 B.C. Ltd., a British Columbia company. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Bagging is currently in pre-launch. Some sections below describe the iOS app practices that will apply when Bagging is available through TestFlight or the App Store. We will update this policy if our data practices change.
Quick version

- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
- We do not track your location in the background.
- Receipt and shelf-tag photos are processed on device where possible and are not stored by default unless needed for verification, support, abuse prevention, or a feature you choose to use.

Information we collect
Website and waitlist
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address
- Submission time
- Basic technical information such as user agent
- Approximate region or country provided by our hosting provider
- Anti-abuse signals needed to operate the form
We use this to run the waitlist, send launch updates, prevent spam or abuse, and understand basic regional demand.
Account information
When the iOS app is available, Bagging may use Sign in with Apple. Depending on your Apple settings, we may receive:
- A stable Apple account identifier
- Your email address, including a private relay email if you choose to hide your email
- Your name, if Apple provides it and you choose to share it
We use this to create and maintain your Bagging account.
Receipt, shelf-tag, and grocery price information
Bagging is built on grocery price data submitted by shoppers. When you use the app, we may collect:
- Product names
- Product sizes or quantities
- Prices
- Store names or banners
- Store location or approximate area
- Receipt photos or shelf-tag photos you choose to submit
- Date and time of a price or receipt
- Corrections or confirmations you submit
We use this to show price history, unit prices, nearby prices, and data quality signals.
Receipt and shelf-tag photos may contain information we do not need, such as loyalty numbers, payment card fragments, cashier identifiers, or other purchase details. Bagging will try to minimize this information where possible. You should avoid submitting anything you do not want processed by Bagging.
Location information
Bagging may ask for location access when you request nearby price comparisons. We use location to:
- Show prices near you
- Estimate distance to stores
- Improve regional price relevance
Bagging does not use background location tracking. If you do not grant location access, you may still be able to use Bagging with manual store or area selection, depending on the available app features.
Personal price history
Bagging may keep a personal history of prices you scanned, receipts you submitted, and products you tracked. We use this to show your own price history and help you compare current prices against your past prices.
Support and communications
If you contact us, we collect the information you provide, such as your email address, message, and any information needed to respond.

Aggregated and de-identified data
Bagging may create aggregated or de-identified grocery price data, such as average prices by product, store, area, or time period. We may use or share aggregated or de-identified data for product features, public price insights, research, press, or marketing, as long as it does not reasonably identify an individual user.

We may share information with:

- Account information: while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion for security, legal, or backup purposes
- Personal price history: while your account is active, unless you delete it or request deletion
- Receipt and shelf-tag photos: not stored by default unless needed for verification, support, abuse prevention, or a feature you choose to use
- Aggregated or de-identified price data: may be retained indefinitely if it no longer reasonably identifies you
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure, but we aim to collect the minimum information needed and limit access to people and providers who need it to operate Bagging.
